It's tough for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The highest peaks have long been mastered.

This is the team that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, plus another six T20 titles, and earlier maintained 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, those for the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a team that has accomplished all there is.

The fact it required up to Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, taking back their record for the biggest in the female 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the bowling attack that have represented Australia over the last half-century.

It's difficult for their batsmen to possess a record if not afforded the chance.

In the end, the outcome of Australia conceding 330 was skipper Alyssa Healy being given an opportunity to produce her most recent brilliance.

Then best known as the young family member of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her country couldn't capture either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has experienced everything through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 World Cup win happened three months after her first appearance and seven world titles have followed from 10 tries across formats.

The gritty keeper was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India temporarily stopped the successful run.

That loss "motivated us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy stated recently.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the final and was declared player of the series. She guaranteed her country would not fail again.

Whether this newest brilliant performance exceeded that prior achievement can be debated.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind final game tension. Some might respond with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's definite is this ton was far harder to predict.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 occurred when she led the batting statistics, but this performance was preceded by six games in India since the start of last month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've been watching me in training, it's been a disappointing period because I feel like I lacked timing completely," commented Healy.

"However when you enter the playing area, your competitive instincts activate and you completely engage with the match."

Healy's fighting spirit has continuously been her great strength - and a priceless quality in taking over from famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, fallen to the emerging pace bowler in each encounter, but this time it merely gave Healy's inspiration.

One run resulted off the opening delivery and from that point the right-hander was on her way.

"The possibility to play and face the challenge with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, somewhat inspired me," said Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 pitches - her fastest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

Once she was dismissed the team required another 66 at one run per ball - a manageable total now needing a comfortable finish.

"Pursuing 330 is uncharted waters so I'm pleased we have the confidence to do that now," continued Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it another time but, if we do, we believe we can achieve it."

That comment will be the ultimate thing Australia's opponents at this championship need to hear.

Over the past five days a feeling they will win from any position has grown stronger - this victory coming after success over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before an encounter with old rivals England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final berth may well be secure.

During that phase they were eliminated from the previous year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a game Healy was absent due to torn tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the first time at a major tournament.

So great is her will, she afterwards commented she wanted to have participated through the pain.

Yet even as she afterwards confessed those physical issues have delayed consideration of ending her career, this championship is likely to be her final tournament as skipper in one-day cricket and she is still to achieve a global event as captain.

Triumph in India would lead her to the peak of her final mountain.
